No matter how carefully you plan, it's impossible to know what may lie around the corner. Unemployment, injury or illness can happen to anyone at any time. That's why the Payment Protection Plan will enable you to enjoy your car without having to worry about the future.
Ford Credit offers four different levels of cover.
Life, Accident and Sickness and Unemployment. You have the option of buying any one of these covers individually or all of them combined within our Premier product.
What is PPP?
PPP stands for Payment Protection Plan. We offer four Payment Protection Plans that reimburse customers their monthly payment in the event of accident, sickness or unemployment or pay the outstanding value of the loan in the event of a customer's death (depending on the cover you select).
Why should I take PPP insurance?
Our Payment Protection Plans are designed to meet your monthly repayments if you are unable to work because of accident, sickness or unemployment or if you leave work to become a carer. If you die our plan will repay your outstanding balance (depending on the cover you select).
What levels of cover are offered?
We offer, Life, Accident and Sickness or Unemployment cover. You can buy cover individually or buy our Premier cover that contains all these products.
How do I get a quote?
By visiting your local FSA authorised Ford Dealer.
Is there eligibility criteria?
Yes there is.
To be eligible for Life Cover, at the start date you must:
- be 18 or over and under 75 when your finance agreement is due to end; and
- live in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man;
To be eligible for Accident and Sickness cover, Unemployment cover or Premier cover, at the start date you must:
- be 18 or over and under 65 when your finance agreement is due to end;
- live in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man; and
- have been in continuous paid work for at least 16 hours per week for the six months prior to the start date of the policy. This includes self-employment and working under a fixed-term contract.
Are any of my existing illnesses covered?
If you die due to an illness you were aware of at the outset of the agreement you will still be covered by our Life policy. However, existing illnesses would be excluded from our Accident and Sickness cover unless you have been continuously insured on your Ford Credit policy and have been symptom free and have not consulted a doctor or received treatment for the condition in the 24 months immediately prior to your claim.

Can I make more than one claim?
You can make more than one claim on our Accident and Sickness, Unemployment or Premier policies. However there are limits to the number of benefit payments you can receive (see our policy booklet for further information).
Do you offer any personal support services if I claim?
If you have an unemployment claim we will provide you with a Job Finder Guide and access to our Claims Support website, which will help you in your job search. You may also be offered access to a CV rewriting service, a CD Rom, employment workshops and telephone support service.
If you have an accident and sickness claim we will provide you with our Claimant Health Guide. You will also have access to our Claims Support website, which will assist you with health updates and general information on your condition.
How do I cancel my PPP policy?
You can cancel your policy at any time by writing to us at Ford Credit, Customer Service Centre, Abbot House, Everard Close, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 2RW.
Will I get a refund of my premium if I cancel my policy?
If you decide you do not want the cover and wish to cancel your policy, you can do so by writing to us within 30 days (the 'cooling off period') of the start date or the date you receive the policy documents, whichever is later. You will receive a full refund of any monthly premium paid provided no claim has been made under the terms of this policy.
If you decide to cancel your policy outside of the cooling off period we will no longer collect monthly premiums but there will be no refund due.
Will my premiums ever change?
We may vary your monthly premium if there is a change to the insurance premium tax percentage.
